Initiatives
General
The Initiatives section is the layer of execution and empowerment to all team members that want to contribute to the company's objectives and strategic areas.
The core principles
- Everyone can contribute with initiative proposals
- Team members can take the lead of initiatives they propose or of those that don't have a lead
- Everyone can choose to submit their contribution of skills and % of capacity for specific initiatives

Table view and Kanban view
- Simple change of views for easy management of status change
- This is particularly useful in Initiatives review meetings that an Objective owner might run

Progress and Status
- Status of the initiative can be changed by the Initiative owner or by the owner of the Objective under which it sits
- Progress is for now declared/set manually by the owner of the initiative. In the future, we plan to integrate with tools for granular tracking of work (e.g., Jira, Trello) that will pull the progress automatically from work tickets.
- Default status is Pending Approval and the change of status can be made by the parent Objective owner or company admin
Adding / Editing an Initiative
- Follows the same simple structure as objective: Name, Description, Timeline, Linked Objective
- Owner: the proposer can take the ownership or can leave it open for other team members.
- Timeline: this can follow the parent Objective timeline or it can be defined as dates for a more granular setting.
Filtering
- For ease of use, there are multiple filtering options that can be used by everyone: My Owned, My Proposed, filter by Status, filter by parent Objective
Skills contribution and capacity view
- In the Contribution panel team members choose what skills to contribute with for a respective initiative and with what % of their capacity
- A general capacity indicator is present to allow team members to see real-time how much they can allocate
